This course offers first-year students an opportunity to learn valuable skills and information that will help them succeed at UCI both academically and personally. Students will enhance strengths while learning about campus values and university resources. The purpose of this course is to aid first year students in the transition to a large research university and enhance their UCI experience by providing opportunities to grow and learn.

Students enrolled in Thrive @ UCI will...
  • increase awareness and use of UC Irvine resources to support campus engagement.
  • improve self-efficacy to manage time and campus relationships with peers, instructors, and others germane to their UC Irvine experience.
  • clarify values and goals important to their individual identities.
  • gain skills to collaborate with UC Irvine peers in ways to promote positive campus climate.
  • gain understanding about ways that they shape UC Irvine values and experiences for others.
