International Scholar Advisor
Ashley joined the International Center team in September 2008 as the International Center Assistant. In June 2015 she transitioned to her role as the International Scholar Advisor. Ashley advises UCI departments, international scholars, faculty and staff on the J-1 visa process and UCI policies and procedures. She also provides advice and support to international scholars related to immigration, adjustment, family, financial, academic and employment related matters. In addition, she develops and facilitates various cultural programs and events for visiting scholars and their dependents.
Ashley earned her B.A. in International Students and Sociology from UC Irvine in 2008. As a UCI student she had the opportunity to participate in summer program at the University of Sussex (England); Ashley is an avid traveler, and has been fortunate to visit various countries throughout Europe, South America and Southeast Asia.
Her experiences abroad have shaped her passion for international education. Ashley’s favorite part of her job is seeing the connections and positive experiences shared by UCI visiting scholars. She truly appreciates the global perspectives, diversity and knowledge visiting international scholars bring to campus. In her free time, Ashley enjoys playing volleyball, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
