Program Coordinator, Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center
Deejay is the Program Coordinator for the LGBT Resource Center at University of Calirfornia, Irvine.
His responsibilities include coordinating campus-wide programs, networking with campus offices and community resources, as well as the daily management of programs and services at the LGBTRC. He assists in providing one-on-one support for students, staff, and faculty around sexual orientation and gender identity. He is proud to be part of the social justice movement at UCI.
Deejay received his Bachelors degree in English: focusing on Creative Writing and Critical Theory ,while also concentrating on Gender & Sexuality Studies and Queer Theory. He currently is working on his Masters of Science in Higher Education at California State University, Fullerton. Prior work experience includes roles within California State University, San Bernardino's Office Housing & Residential Life as Diversity Awareness & Education Programmer, LGBT Lead Assistant at the Santos Manuel Student Union and most recently served as the Graduate Assistant at CSU Fullerton's ASI LGBTQ Resource Center. Deejay has facilitated a number of trainings and presentations around social justice issues and the Queer experience, most recently as a facilitator at T*Camp and the Queering the Binary Summit.
Deejay wants "to create opportunities for all students to have space, agency and support to explore and establish their student identities. My goal is to be authentic, lead by example and strive to practice what I preach with integrity, understanding and continually recommit myself to a create a culture of caring.”
