Denice graduated from UC, Berkeley with a BA degree in Ethnic Studies and Chican@ Studies, and from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a Masters of Public Policy and a Masters of Arts in Higher and Postsecondary Education. During her time at Berkeley, she was the Outreach and Co-Executive Director for bridges Multicultural Resource Center, which is a student of color coalition whose efforts focus on recruitment and retention. Most recently she worked at the Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs at the University of Michigan, advising and working with students on grant writing. Denice has also worked for the Economic Policy Institute through the Center for Progressive Leadership analyzing higher education policies and other issues impacting people of color. She is excited to be at UCI and advise students in any and all aspects of their university and community work.
