What is one of your favorite qualities about yourself?
I Iike that I don’t hesitate to ask for help from my professors and teachers when I need it. When I ask for help I get the answers I was looking for, plus a lot more! It’s also a great way to build relationships with professors and show you’re interested.

What is your leadership style?
Whenever I am making a decision for a club or event, I always ask my peers for their opinions. In the organizations I am involved in, I am surrounded by many smart and driven people so I try to work towards decisions that we can all agree on and be proud of.

Who or what group has helped you improve on your leadership skills?
Being the president of the English Major’s Association has strengthened my leadership skills the most. With every event I learn more about what plans are effective, how to efficiently delegate, and how to make events run smoothly. I also love how many people I have met (even in my own major) who I wouldn't have had the chance to meet otherwise.

What has been one of your most memorable experiences at UCI?
Being in the Humanities Honors Program has been the most memorable experience for me at UCI. We are an interdisciplinary, two year program so I have made strong friendships with people who are like-minded, but have different interests. The program is also giving me the opportunity to conduct my own research, and having a cohort makes that process much less lonely.

What are you looking forward to in 2017?
I am most looking forward to graduating! I am so excited to see the culmination of my four years of hard work and to celebrate it with my family. Graduating will be bittersweet, though. UCI is my second home.
